[when she comes in she's a bit out of breath, but other than looking a bit pale and a cut on her cheek, she looks alright]

Forget about that! [Esther is rushing to her side and bringing her handkerchief to Nanako's cheek.]

I'm just relieved to see you're okay. [Esther sighs in relief before continuing.]

For now we're patrolling together. No exceptions! Now tell me what happened.

Ah- [she takes the hankercheif... she didn't even realize that she was bleeding. she would argue over the need to be babied, but she'll get to the important part first. After a moment of hesitation she holds up a bloody rosary]

He said... that if we keep playing mind games with them, then more people in the city will disappear. And after that- he'll attack the castle.

But I don't understand when he meant by mind games! I told him that we didn't all have to fight like this, but he just left.

He's in denial. [Esther takes the rosary carefully into her hands.]

He won't accept the fact the castle has been messing with all of us since we arrived here. He's trying to blame it on me.

[she looks down at her feet. She wants to comfort her somehow, but she just doesn't... know how]

As he left, he told Evangeline why priests shouldn't leave the castle but she just did this [she presses down on the handkerchief]... that's all. After that she just don't told me to go.

I don't understand why.

[Esther is still staring at that rosary. She'll be the strong leader in a few minutes. Just let her process this.]

He can't make us go away even if he kills us. It's about making us suffer now.

[She meets Nanako's eyes before abruptly hugging her.]

[ah... she hugs her back. She's a little surprised, but if it can help Esther feel better (and Nanako too) then she'll hug her for as long as she needs]

Everybody is going to be okay. [Esther isn't sure if she's comforting herself or Nanako now. It doesn't matter. They both need it.

It's alright, I can take care of it if you need to do anything... [she feels bad enough for making her worry, she doesn't want to take up her time if she has important things to do]

I'm waiting for Kenshin to come back actually. [She sent him to check out Tomoe.] I have some time for this.
