I wonder why it's called wax paper. You can't make paper out of wax, can you?

Possibly. [She points at the box of paper Nudge is holding.] That is paper with wax applied to the surface to create moisture-proof properties.

[And she glances at the recipe again.]

'Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.'

[percepts]

[ she wrinkles her nose at the paper and shrugs. ] Huh. 'Kay.

[ she grabs the flour to measure it out, and then pauses ] Uh, okay. You should probably help me measure this out, or we'll both end up looking like sugar frosted cookies ourselves. It was three cups, right?

[Yuki sets the recipe book down and walks over, picking up the appropriate measuring cup.]

Correct. Three cups.

[ she caaarefully starts tipping flour into it ]

Iiii've mentioned that I haven't done this before, right? But I've watched Iggy and Dr. Martinez, so that's something, at least.

[Yuki is monitoring the amount of flour and, when exactly (and I do mean exactly) she's got one cup in the measuring cup she'll stop Nudge, dump that flour into the bowl, and hold the measuring cup up for the next cup.]

Who?

[percepts]

[ sou precise. :x nudge probably spills a little onto the table, but meh, she'll clean it up later. she keeps on tipping ]

My brother and a friend of the family. Iggy's a genius in the kitchen. It's pretty amazing!

[Waatchiiiing and repeats her actions, then holds the cup up for the last cup of flour.]

Does he cook often?

[percepts]

[ aaaand tipping ]

Whenever he can, I guess! He makes great lasagne. And great omelettes. And great fudge. He'd probably be a great teacher buuuut I guess you'll have to settle for me!

[ she grins and sticks out her tongue briefly ]

I don't mind. I have never cooked something this complicated before.

[And stopping her! The final cup of flour goes into the bowl!]

[ she grabs the salt and the teaspoon measure ]

Cookies aren't too hard. We just have to be careful to not forget them once they go into the oven. [ especially nudge ] What kinds of stuff have you made before?

[Getting the baking soda, to measure that out after the salt.]

Tea. Instant curry. Rice.

[percepts]

[ she tips of the half teaspoon and the teaspoon of salt, then hands the measure over to yuki ]

Heheh, I guess you eat your parents' cooking most of the time, then?

[bogusmagic]

[Measuring out the baking soda. Again, exactly.]

[ she gets a fork to whisk with when she's done. you can whisk with a fork, right? sure you can. ]

Haha, they're no good at it, huh? Then, what, you eat out?

[Sure! Yuki isn't entirely sure how one whisks - she's not a chef like Haruhi.]
