I'm pretty sure vampires don't cause this much havoc on my own world. I mean, really aside from a few like Rita Skeeter most people accept them in magic society. At least as beings. It's actually illegal to kill them, some people do and I suppose they go to Azkaban for it.
I mean they're not pure blooded wizards or anything like that obviously but there were even rumours about Scrimgour, he was our minister for magic. Although as it was the father of Loony Lovegood, I can't say that there's much truth in it.
Oh the centaurs don't like them of course and neither do the merpeople. Although I'd much rather have an aversion to garlic then be forced to defecate in the woods or turn green with gills and bad teeth.
I could do without the blood drinking though. That's an entirely unsavoury practice.
