This person! thiefoflight June 2 2011, 04:51:35 UTC
Oh, hey!

[Spoken so casually. Internally: WHO IS THIS.]

That depends. To what do I owe the potential solicitation?

[ she hopes she isn't freaking her out. :( ]

My name's Karen and Karkat actually directed me to you.

God, I know how that sounds.

[SHE IS SO WTF RIGHT ABOUT NOW. Also, confused. Yes, the confusion thing.]

Oh god, what is he trying to get you to do? If this is his way of trying to get someone to auspitice for the sake of his silly hate crush, I think I would just throw up!

Auspitiwhat? No, this has nothing to do with his hormones thankfully.

He mentioned you had the power of mind control.

Oh. Okay. Good. Because I was seriously about to just die from second-hand embarrassment!

[She pauses, squints at the journal, and-- Grin.]

That may very well be one of my many talents.

Then... I can really use your help with something, Vriska. It's important. I can promise you now that it's not dangerous.

Aww, but I like danger! [Chuckle.] Still, my curiosity may or may not be piqued! Better give me some details just in case!

Long story short, there's a pendant I need to test out to see if it really repels telepathic abilities. The disappearances in the city were caused by someone with that power but if this pendant is the real deal, then I'll have no problem taking him down.

Why not, that sounds entertaining enough!

But what if my powers and this other person's powers are completely different? I mean, I am pretty awesome at what I do, but there may very well be people who have had more experience with the art and all that!

That's a risk I'm willing to take myself. [ she's firm... because she really wants to get her hands on legato. ] How do your powers work exactly?

Hey, I'm not about to stop you! I was just saying!

[She sighs, allowing her chin to rest on her palm, thinking about it before answering.]

I'm really all that sure how to explain it, but-- usually, my powers with my own kind only work on the impressionable, those with weaker wills than my own! There's only so much I can do with humans, so if you're not a typical, run-of-the-mill average Joe, I'd say the effectiveness of my mental capacity is still up in the air!

But to be more specific, all I really use are my psychic manipulations to dig deep into a mind, allowing my own thoughts to take over theirs, and consequentially, their very actions. The person in question is very much aware of what I am doing to them, but until I release them on my own accord, the process is very difficult to break! I can take over every action and any powers they might possess as well! The latter doesn't get transferred to me of course, it's still pretty much all them.

It's vaguely reminiscent of what Legato did to me... I couldn't move but I was fully conscious of what was going on. Only difference is that I don't know the extent of his power at all. He's capable of manipulating dozens of humans at once, so that must be an easy feat.

Ugh. I don't think I can do that just yet-- [Huff. Wait, admitting weakness? NO!] But I know I'll be capable of it one day! Hell, maybe now if I practice more! Yeah, I am pretty sure I can do that!

Normally I hate psionic stuff but you can go ahead and try on me. Well, as soon as I get the pendant.

Serious. We've got to test its efficiency. There's no holding back.
