[...Okay, that sounds interesting enough to check out. So, have a vampire coming to join you, Cain]

We have overlords, now?

[Looking up, he registers fangs and a distinctly undead appearance. But... Guido hadn't exactly looked normal, and Abel was a bit on the bizarre side when he let himself go.]

Marshmallows.

...

Is that an offer? I tend not to eat them, they're a little difficult to chew.

No; they're the overlords.

[He sighs, before offering her a friendly smile and gesturing for her to take a seat.]

A friend and I joked that with the insanity of this world, we might wake up one day with marshmallow overlords. It was a running amusement, we'd make plans on how to combat them. He's gone... so I thought burning some overlords would be a good way to remember him.

[SMal chuckles, moving to sit beside him]

Sounds like quite the story. It's a good way to honour him.

[She'll off him a small smile] Sorry about your friend. At least he's not under the whims of a insane castle any more, right?

[He heard a lot of people say that when others went home; at least they're not here, but how was that meant to be a comfort? There they were friends, now he was gone and how was it different to any other permanent loss of someone?]

Mm.

And you'll always remember him, correct? That's something.

[Vampires were so not made for comfort, she looks to the sky, pondering what to say next] Do you have anyone from your home world here?

[He appreciates that she's trying, nodding as he poked the fire.]

My twin brother is here, as well as a nun I'm not personally familiar with.

Well, that's something. It's good to know you have people who will always remember you.

[Unless they have a loss >>]

[Or unless the prevalent memories are of a psychotic thing inhabiting his body.]

It doesn't make it any easier to lose the friends we make.

[That too]

I'll have to take your word on that. I suppose you're right though.

You haven't lost any friends yet?

mal_addict May 22 2011, 22:19:46 UTC
Oh, I have. A very close one, too. I just haven't got anyone from home.

I'm sorry, you must miss them terribly.

I think he's happier back home, really. Less dangerous.

Sadly, I think that must be true of many worlds.
