[Of course Alleyne went FLARPing with her journal. Gotta keep an eye/ear out on everyone who didn't come along. She worries about you all even if she won't quite admit it.

She dictates into it as she walks around.]

It got you, too?

It hit me with two myself recently. It must be a prime season for it. perhaps to changing to more warm days has made it feel more mischievous; just our luck.

I wonder if this place would be forced to endure the winter if it didn't wish to...

Knowing it, it would make it somehow stay spring permanently and then dress us all up in embarrassing traditional garb to 'celebrate' in.

At least your loss sounded more pleasant than many I've seen.

It was not at all unpleasant, honestly, though I must acknowledge the castle's disturbing power to transform and warp us. It cuts and rearranges us as I might tailor a dress.

It saddled me with two bouts of ridiculousness in the course of one month; perhaps it's for the best you really didn't hear it much. I can take some solace in the fact yours was kinder.

[Still feeling overprotective from the whole Slenderbitch incident. Anything dumb or embarrassing would have made her pretty angry at the castle for picking on the kids again.]

...You mend clothing? Or at least make your own?

I make clothing, correct, and as I make it I can mend it. One leads to the other, as you might guess.

Those who could mend clothing and armor were valued highly at home. Fighting hard often lead to it getting torn or broken, sometimes entirely. Those who could repair it fast were of immense asset. Good to see those so young already getting into such work ethics.

Perhaps you could do something eventually involving a terrible shirt I was given a while ago.

My friends and I all have various useful hobbies. Alleyne, you've been very kind, but I'm not sure you've been told that life on Alternia was very rigorous. A wiggler without useful abilities or at least some wherewithal to defend themselves and care for their lusus would likely die before the Imperial Drone even culled them.

At any rate, a shirt would be no trouble at all. What precisely is terrible about it?

I've gathered as such talking to those from your home. It's not an uncommon tale; though it wasn't quite as harsh, young women were expected to train hard to become queen back home. That could very well lead to their death before they even came of age into adulthood. I find this place is full of common stories, no matter how tragic. I can commend you for your courage and tenacity, at the least.

But yes, someone here, while on a loss, made me an odd shirt that...well, it's kind of itchy. Can you make it not so itchy while retaining its original look?

All young women would train to become queen? From that it seems competition for the post must certainly have been fierce... [A bit hesitantly:] I can see why many of them died. Or have I misinterpreted your account...?

I certainly could take a look at the very least. I do not expect it would be difficult to do some simple modifications or possibly add in a buffer layer of fabric with a different texture.
