[Pages rustle as if someone is flipping through them casually, suddenly stopping when the reader comes to the end of the journal. A single curious chuckle before the sound of a squeaking chair and twin thumps as if someone is putting his feet up on a desk. He starts talking to himself quietly.]
Well isn't this something. Reminds me of The Doctor's psychic paper a bit.
[A short pause and the sound of the speaker scratching something, probably the back of his neck. Suddenly his voice is twice as loud.]
Hello! Captain Jack Harness, at your service. I'm new in town, just blew in yesterday. I don't really remember how I got here, but that's nothing new. I ended up in the middle of the royal fertility ceremony on Larkius 5 once, no idea how I got there, but let me tell you those Larkins sure know how to make a man feel welcome.
[A pause as if Jack is smiling, which he most likely is. Jack is almost always smiling for one reason or another.]
Thought I'd introduce myself. I'd love to get to know each and every one of you personally. Don't be shy! I definitely won't be.
