This isn’t… quite like any magic I’ve seen before…

[The voice is soft and ponderous, its owner seemingly talking to themselves.]

I wonder how it works…?

[A slight tap of a finger against paper for a few moments, and then a thoughtful little sound.]

Strange… Maybe I should try ( Read more... )

[There's a moment of silence, before he speaks up, in that 'I have a hard time buying that' tone.]

... a 'walking teddy'. Really.

[This is almost as bad as talking to that talking 'bear' from before.]

[It takes him a second to realize that oh-! Someone's answering, and then he replies eagerly.]

Yes, really...! Um- he answers to 'Roger' usually. Have you seen him?

No. I have not. [So blunt, but still in that same tone. Can you hear the doubt in his voice, Bridget?]

Oh... well- thank you anyway then.

[He can, kind of, but he has no clue what that tone is for.]

I saw a giant walking teddy bear once, I did indeed. We used to have a second town, you know. It was called "Badonkadonk". Anyways, Teddy the Destroyer ravaged it in days, slaughtering everyone and making really sweet coats out of them.

Also hi, I am a talking book.

Well I should hope so. Cause I only talk once. Miss what I say, then you gotta read.

You know. Being a book and all.

[If he were in the habit of facepalming, he would. As it is, he only makes a nervous sound and lets out a sigh.]

Um, no I... I only meant that... well...

I rather know it's someone in the castle, and not actually the book speaking, is all.

Ah, well... not to sound full of myself, really but- usually I'm rather good at understanding how magic works.

Oh.

Well, that does put a bit of a wrench in the works, so to speak, doesn't it?

A teddy walking around? Like the bear, or what you wear to not be bare? What's his name, Bridget?

Oh! That would... probably be a good thing to know, wouldn't it? He goes by Roger, actually.

Haven't heard of a bear by that name, but I'll keep an ear out for him. My name's Sakura, for reference -- what does your bear friend look like?

Um... he looks like a fairly regular teddy, really- um... he's got stitches from the back of his head to the top of his eyes and he talks... if, um, that helps any?
