[ to say the least, considering how his easter was spent, damon sounds very perplexed, and his message is brief; ]

We have a problem.

[ ooc; this is all in regards to rose's loss so if your character got bitten by her, damon would be the guy to chat with about it. :) he and wesley will be taking her out tonight and she'll be locked up for the ( Read more... )

If you're referring to the vampire currently on the rampage, yes, I would say that we do.

[Wes is not in the best of moods. His neck hurts like a bitch and passing out is never a pleasant experience. He hasn't contacted the others yet, partly because he knows that some will be upset at how close he came to serious injury.]

You ran into her and you're still breathing. Interesting.

Let's just say I've had experience in dealing with them. However, she did catch me by surprise. If I hadn't had a stake on me, things may have gone a different way.

[ his tone suddenly gets dark, harsh and violent. ] If you staked her, I will tear your limbs off slowly while you beg for mercy.

[With caustic amusement.]

I would hardly be agreeing that we had a problem if I had already staked her, now would I? I would've informed you that it was taken care of. For the next few weeks at least.

I try not to stake first and ask questions later. It leads to less misunderstandings.

[ it's hard for him to cool off after that, so he's still a little gruff, but he has to appreciate that response. ] Why the hell were you carrying one of those with you in the first place? Who do you think you are, Van Helsing? [ he sounds critical, but really he's just feeling wesley out. in a non homoerotic way. ]

Why does anyone carry a gun? For protection.

[Although quite often he's the hunter, not the hunted. He ponders how much to reveal and in the end opts for honesty.]

You're not that far off the mark, actually. I'm a demonologist. And I specialise in supernatural criminal investigations. Or at least I did.

I take it you know this vampire and care for her deeply. If that's the case, we ought to subdue her quickly before any of my colleagues take matters into their own hands. Before she kills someone.

Maybe even before the Slayer gets her. [ Yeah, he knows about Faith and has been doing his best to avoid her life. This probably ... won't help things. 8| Goddamn. And he's just going to not mention that he's not holding his breath about her not having killed anyone yet ... ]

That's kind of the plan. Unfortunately, she's ... old. [ And kicked his ass. 8( Lmao ouch, his dignity hurts. ] No investigation necessary, making it just a little out of your league. So you can keep the stake in your pants.

[Wes does not appreciate being told his skills won't be up for the job.]

You'll be surprised at just what I can handle. What's your plan? Lure her somewhere into a trap or try to take her down in combat? Clearly she can be staked. Is she also vulnerable to crosses, holy water, that sort of thing?

I have a tranquiliser gun, if that will be of any use.

Unless your tranq gun is loaded with vervain, I doubt it's going to be any good to anyone. Any specialist worth his salt would know that -- [ He hesitates. Right. Different worlds. Wes is from Lilah's, which means vampires are soulless and hurt by those things. The same reason she tried to hold her cross up to him. ]

Wish up some vervain and reload your tranqs. I'm going hunting, and you're going to help me. No stakes, but load up on wooden bullets. They'll slow her down.

[Wes does his best not to bristle at the man's dismissive words. Every world has its idiosyncrasies, after all.]

Duly noted. Vervain is not something needed on my world to take down vampires. Hence my line of questioning. The more information the better.

Give me half an hour to prepare. Where shall I meet you? I'll contact my friends and inform them of the situation. Perhaps Spike or Angel can come along to lend us some muscle. If she's old, then I'm presuming she's stronger than the average vampire.

[ back to his harsh, demanding voice. ]

If you breathe a word of this to anyone else, I'll make sure you never see the light of day again. No muscle. I'm your muscle. You nail her with one of those, I can take her out and hold her. She's old, but I'm smart.

Think you can manage that?

Do you think that threats of violence are going to work on me? A simple request to keep it between the two of us for now might have sufficed.

[Wes' patience is finite and you just keep pushing it, Damon. Have some stubborn asshole-ish behaviour back.]

I'm leaving a note in my quarters explaining the situation should things go awry. I'll destroy it afterwards if we're successful. I'm not asking your permission.

Now, again, where should I meet you?

Wesley miseternity April 26 2011, 03:11:19 UTC
I don't trust requests. Threats have a way of making people want to listen. I'll meet you in the lobby -- she shouldn't be hard to track down. We'll just follow the blood.

All right, then.
