And if he so happens to wander into the kitchen, it's not because he's been looking for her, it's because he just wanted to make something to eat. Which he'll do while pointedly ignoring her.

Can't have his hands free with those snakey reflexes and everything. As soon as she sees her opening, she slips an arm around and slides the plate over.

[He stills in his jar-opening activities to turn his head slightly to observe her]

[He watches her eat his hard-grafted sandwich for a moment, before turning to lean on the kitchen counter, pretending he doesn't care she's taken food before he can even taste any of it]

[and hey, apparently she's been away long enough, because she doesn't immediately try to wriggle away. ...She does move her arms enough that she doesn't drop her sandwich though. She worked hard to steal that thing fair and square.]
