004 - Bringing the First Taste of the Spring

[Ten's gone walking through the castle today, curious to explore the building that's causing them all so much fuss. He doesn't make it very far, though, before he spots a single acorn sitting right in the middle of the lobby.

Funny... it wasn't quite the right season for acorns, was it?

Picking it up, he'll turn it over in his palm, when he notices

[Quite suddenly, there's a little boy lying on his stomach beside the Doctor, peering under the couch curiously.]

...whatever they are, they seem quite small.

[that's enough to get the Doctor's attention, though his surprise comes in the form of raised eyebrows] Seems to be a morning for all sorts of unexpected things.

[Tilting his head to look over at the Doctor and totally not noticing those raised eyebrows in a way that would be helpful to showing off the guy's surprise.]

I have noticed that mornings can be quite good for unexpected things, though! They seem to leave better impressions on people.

Quite so! Gives a nice twist to the start of the day.

[For the moment, his curiosity is fixed solely on the boy] How exactly did you do that?

[Whereas Pharos is still quite curious about the little things under the couch. Though he smiles at the question.

And just as suddenly as he appeared, he's simply gone. if the Doctor looks up, he'll see Pharos leaning over the edge of the couch to look down at him.]

I have been told that the most simple way to explain it would be to simply say something along the lines of "teleportation".

[have a bright smile, Pharos] Oh, fantastic! Though you hardly need to go the simple route with me. Still, that's a rather handy ability, to say the least.

Most people seem to find the way that I talk about things tedious at times, and as I do not have a truly proper explanation for just how I am able to do that, it seems the simpler way is accepted more readily.

[Ohhh, smiles! He likes smiles quite a bit, and smiles back cheerfully.] I could not agree more, though; it is one of my handier abilities. It makes travel between where I live and the Castle a very simple matter, and I am quite thankful for that.

Nonsense! Might as well be thorough about it from the first. Saves a great deal of miscommunication in the long run. [a pause] Well, provided the other party can keep up, but I'm hardly worried about that.

You believe you would have an easier time of keeping up than most people would, is that it? [He grins.] I have to admit, Doctor, this version of you is quite interesting! The last one I had a proper conversation with one of you you were female, and not quite as talkative.

Yes, well... I do seem to have a bit of a gob with this regeneration, but I'm rather fond of it my-

Oh yes! She was quite nice, if a bit peculiar from time to time. I could never see the use in adding rockets to a wheel chair, but she seemed very pleased with it.
