I guess it's one way to get swept up in being here. Used to it.

Yeah. It's really all you can do. Go along with it, or... drown. Or something.

I don't mind going along with it, but I don't want to settle in.

Well. [he laughs, not unkindly] Good luck with that then... I used to feel the same way.

How long have you been here?

[nurse_boy]

Nearly a year.

[justgonnaramble]

Wow.

Do you think you're...you know...settled here?

[nurse_boy]

[he's quiet for a moment while he thinks on that. In truth, the answer and the reasons why are very complicated, but in the end he simply says:]

Yeah. Yeah, I think I am. I mean--I just got married, last week. [a small chuckle] I don't think you can get much more settled than that.

[justgonnaramble]

Married? Wow. That...is definitely settled. Did you meet her here?

Yeah, married. [there's happiness in his voice, like he can't quite believe it himself] And--no. No, I know Amy from back home. We grew up together and, luckily, both ended up here. Together.
