I believe one of the better ways to know for sure if you have had a memory taken by the Castle is to speak to someone that you were familiar with in your own world, or to talk to someone that may have known you if you were ever in the Castle before.
...I know that when I first arrived here Minato did not remember me, and that was his loss. But he was not entirely aware of that fact until then, because none of his other friends in his own world knew of me.

If by any chance you have indeed been here before, you could always look through past journal entries to see if your loss has been any different; but I am uncertain of how helpful that would be, as I imagine there would be a number of things mentioned that you would not actually be capable of remembering.
Otherwise, I am uncertain of what you could truly do to find out what your loss is.
It does seem that way; I know that when I arrived here, Minato did not remember me at all. And later on while I was here, I believe his loss "changed" so that he was capable of remembering me, but his memories of someone else were taken from him instead.
...But unfortunately he has since left and returned to the Castle once more, and he does not recall those things ever happening; so I do not believe he would be able to assist you at this point either.
