003 » Jade: Get Snatched
[ In the dark hallways of the castle, two kids are walking with a few books in their arms. They walk side by side, shuffling close together as they hurry along on their way back from the library. ]
john are you really sure this will work?
do you really think these books have information in them??

but it is a better plan than sitting around waiting.
[ Rin finally snapped and headed back to the castle early today - twelve hours later, arriving on the grounds and heading for her room. John's voice is familiar and she breaks into a quick jog when she hears it. ]
John? Is that you? I thought you were staying in the TARDIS!

[ Jade turns slightly to stare at the unfamiliar girl, blinking. ]

sorry we are heading back right now
we were just getting some things from the library
Yeah, we're friends. [ Rin glances over at Jade and then approaches them both, expression worried. She'll ask for introductions later. ] That's not safe. You guys know people are getting grabbed all over the place.

[ He suddenly cuts his sentence short. He's looking at something past the two girls, eyes wide and horrified. He drops the books and they scatter as he scrambles forward, pushing Jade and Rin down the hall as fast as he can. The books Jade was carrying fall from her arms with heavy thuds. ]

[ But then she sees it too and she cries out in fear. She tries to struggle against John's insistent shoving to grab him, but fails. She's too frightened.
Rin is more successfully and she reaches, snagging John by the arm. She pulls, attempting to drag him away from the threat. Then just like that John seems to slip through her fingers as if his form turned into liquid. It's quick and sudden.
He's gone. ]
[ Jade is wide-eyed with horror and fear and she stumbles now that the force shoving her has suddenly vanished. She whirls around on her heel. ]
john!!!

give him back!!!
[ Without thinking she rushes forward, right at the unseeable monster.
Rin races straight after both of them, grabbing desperately for a collar or an arm, even a handful of hair, anything to drag them to safety, even if it's hopeless. ] No, stop! John! Fuck!
[ Jade realizes two seconds too late that this was an awful idea. She stumbles to a stop, tries to back away, and for a moment she seems to struggle against an invisible force.
Rin's hand reaches for her, nearly makes contact...
and then she's gone too. ]
Fuck... [ For a second, Rin can't believe it. But she just watched a good friend and a little girl disappear into thin air right in front of her eyes. It's impossible not to believe, and the situation is getting worse. She darts to the end of the hall, uselessly, desperate. ] Oh, fuck! John! [ An angry sort of sob upswells in her voice at his name. ]
... Oh, God!
