[ Rather cheerfully, while holding the book in her lap, she reads the next paragraph aloud to Laura and Julian since they are her newfound company today. She's finding that she really enjoys Laura's company, for one reason or another. Female warriors rule. And having Julian there? Is starting to make her worry less and less, it couldn't come for her with him here. He wouldn't let it take her away. So her voice is nothing but steady! ]

Come, come, we are friends: let's have a dance ere
we are married, that we may lighten our own hearts
and our wives' heels!

[ Laura didn't so much mind Justinia's company. She wasn't all that accustomed to dealing with children, but the girl was so well-spoken and intelligent that it was hard to call her a child. She had a vague idea why Laurie had suggested this play to her, but Laura didn't really want to dwell on it. Justinia seemed to enjoy reading her parts, though, and it was good to distract her from the current goings on. ]

We'll have dancing afterward.

[ Line read, Laura glanced at the young queen. It was almost... Calming to be protecting someone. It was something she could do without much thought. ]

[ Julian looks. unamused. his tone is unamused. his expression. is unamused. ]

No, I'm not saying it.

[ Justinia was all rainbows and sunshine until he refused, then she huffs and makes a show of giving him a rather pointed glance. She would not continue reading until he read his line! So, with the book held out, and some serious pouting going on in her corner; ]

Oh! It is a simple, written line! If not Benedick, then you may read the Messenger!

[ Laura is looking at Julian expectantly, and after Justinia's admonishment, adds: ]

Yes, Julian, please read your lines.

[ if he could look any unhappier, this would be it. finally, he just. stares down at the page and starts reading dryly. ]

First, of my word; therefore play, music. Prince,
thou art sad; get thee a wife, get thee a wife:
there is no staff more reverend than one tipped
with horn.

[ Once more, with feeling! You know what? She'll let that go as he did, in fact, read the lines. After quietly clearing her throat, she continues to the next character's lines. ]

My lord, your brother John is ta'en in flight,
And brought with armed men back to Messina.

[Laura didn't push the issue, either. She certainly wasn't adding much emotion to the reading of her lines.]

Think not on him till tomorrow:
I'll devise thee brave punishments for him.
Strike up, pipers.

[The play finished, she closed the book, looking slightly puzzled.]

I do not understand why Laurie wished that I read this.

[ Julian just lounged back in his chair, looking rather unimpressed. ]

That shit was boring.

It was not.. that! [ Haha, she will not curse, you can't make her! ]

Who is Laurie? Is she another friend from your home? If able, I would very much like to meet..

[ She drifts off a little, seeming to be looking at something in a nearby corner. But when she blinks and it's gone, she just shakes her head and returns her attention to the pair. ]

To meet her.

Yes, she is.

[ She notices Justinia's glance, and follows the girl's gaze, but doesn't see anything. ]

What is the matter?

[ jules doesn't seem to notice that she's looking at someting, too annoyed at the fact that they're talking about Laurie now ]

In other words, who cares.

It is nothing!

[ After a reassuring smile, she looks between the two of them with an eyebrow raised. because really guys? that's not going to make her curious or anything. ]

Your opinions on the matter are mixed?

[ Laura eyes Justinia for a moment, but decides that she's telling the truth, and relaxes. ]

I do not know her very well.

[ scowling ]

She's a dumb bitch. Moving on.

.. Mixed, indeed. So, would it be wise for me to meet her?

[ SO UNSURE. she's usually with Julian when it comes to matters like this but she also believes Laura would be honest. a personal grudge? how curious. instead of prodding further, she just nods and closes the book. ]

I apologize, I will not mention her again.

[ Not really interested in discussing Laurie further, Laura stands to check through the window. ]

[ Hello, uncomfortable silence. After climbing out of her chair, she turns to face the two of them and almost immediately her expression begins to fall. Another shadow? But when she blinked, this one wasn't going away. What was worse, it was behind her friends, looming closer and closer. So her expression goes from excitement to sheer horror in the span of a few seconds.

Hearing about it and seeing it were two very different things. ]

You-- No.. No!

Julian, Laura! Please, get away from here! Get away, now!

[ he's immediately looking back when she cries out, telekinesis flaring ]

Justinia! Where is it? Stay close to me; it won't come near you --

[Laura whirls around, claws extending. She's looking desperately for a target - but she sees nothing. There's no scent, no sound except for the beating of Justinia's and Julian's hearts, their breathing. It's dizzying - Laura is always able to rely on her senses. ]

Where is it?!

L-leave me alone..

[ She promised herself she would be strong but she couldn't, this thing-- this thing. It was horrible. She shrinks back but her gaze is drifting up, up and up. Away from them now, and to the area next to them. Go away, go away, go away! She wanted to attack it, she wanted to run away but, when it came down to it, she couldn't move a muscle.

At the last second, she jerks her heard in Julian and Laura's direction and opens her mouth to plea to them, judging by the way she's started to cry. But she doesn't get a chance because without warning, she disappears. ]

No!

[ there's the sound of something telekinetically exploding and then: ]

Fuck, fuck. No.

[ooc; There will be a HOUSE FILTER for Buffy, Laura and Julian but anyone else? Feel free to reply, Justinia has kept her journal open to be on the safe side, but this kidlet obviously won't reply. Someone please stop Julian from blowing up Lana's pretty house. ]
