People have also been taking refuge in the TARDIS. Yuan's been doing what he can to set up a field around the ballroom to make that more secure as well.

[deep breath.]The tree outside is, by all appearances, an ordinary Empress Tree. The problem is that it's impervious to harm and has half a dozen telephone pole sized roots that go down far deeper than normal roots and seem to be pulling up blood from an unknown underground source. The blood is leeching out of the tree like sap. It's human, from multiple sources, none of whom are residents who have samples at the clinic. Yesterday, someone or something slit the throats of a horse and a number of cows, strung them up by their back legs in the tree and left them to bleed out. Also yesterday, seven children went missing, Gosalyn, Vriska, Karkat, Emil, Chiyo, Luna and Sora. Many were with an adult who saw absolutely nothing. Jilly was with Sora. She said he was there, then he wasn't, he just seemed to vanish. Gosalyn's father, Darkwing is quite panicked. His daughter vanished from the Danger Room, right under his beak. Over the course of the day, a number of articles, photos and passages have been found by people throughout the castle.

If adults can't sense whatever's going on, then maybe some advanced sensors will work.

I haven't heard anything from anyone who can sense demonic presences or ghosts, but that might be a possibility.

If it's an entity, it has to show up somehow. Even if the kids are being teleported, there should be an energy spike.
