[meanwhile, Damian is on his way to the town, heading out to do a bit of patrolling. He'll meet up with Dick later. He just wants to do a few beats alone, first, happy that he's allowed to do that now.
Damian crosses the lawn. Even if the grass is slippery from snow-melt, it's better than passing too close to the street lamps. The dark really is easier to work with, sometimes.
And then he spies the man up ahead. Huh. Is that...?]
[It is! But he isn't paying attention to the things in the dark right now. Maybe he's gotten too comfortable here, or maybe he's just distracted by the low, pleasant thrill of murder after too long, but either way he doesn't even think to look around and check for pests...]
Damian watches him for a second, a bit caught up. Other than that one time with the Joker, he's never dealt with one of his father's enemies without someone over his shoulder.
But that doesn't really matter, does it? He's had a year to train here. It should be fine, right?
He switches directions, following, keeping to the shadows but getting closer and closer.]
[He continues in his beeline towards the castle, and it isn't until he is almost at the door that he thinks to look up and scan the area. He has that terrible feeling that a Bat is watching him, though as he finds shapes in the dark that might be, he doesn't think it could be The Bat]
[For now, he stays silent, but he's listening closer as he starts to move again... Come out, come out, he knows you're there, little Bat...]
