After how much has been terrible since he got here, it's kind of nice to see someone just enjoying themselves.

[ your just jealous that she sings and dances better than you, don't be hating on the silver girl. thankfully she catches sight of him before belting out the chorus, otherwise she might have tried to find a hole to crawl in for the rest of her stay here.

deer-in-headlights! which might look a little creepy since she's sans pupils, but he probably gets the idea. she tugs one ear bud out, lowering the volume with her free hand. sheepish smile! ]

.. I knew I should have limited the singing to the shower. Hi?

[the non-humany things are still making him a little uneasy... but singing and dancing in the kitchen was a lot better than blasting down walls and sacrificing his partner, so he'll go with it]

Hey, sometimes there's just things we've gotta do.

Though I might interrupt the performance to get some lunch, if that's cool with you.

Oh, hey, interrupt away! I'm just going to sit over here and try not to be mortified.

[ she laughs, clearly teasing, stealing a seat nearby. ]

[he's settling for a sandwich, since barbecuing indoors isn't really an easy feat. Plus? Quicker]

[a sideways glance as he gets the works together] I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess shiny isn't a fashion statement?

[he's aware it's probably rude to ask...but it's not like he can pretend he didn't notice, either]

Good guess. The long story would take awhile, so I'll stick with the shorter one.

[ she leans back in her chair, making it stand up on two legs idly ]

I'm what you would call a mutant, the "shiny" skin is part of my mutation.

[he's quiet as he processes that, laying out the bread, the condiments, the meat]

I mean, I've always looked like this. Well. At least for a the last few years. [ she holds out a hand, you know you want to touch her awesome skin man ]

I'm gonna guess Suzy and Joe Normal weren't always quick with the acceptance speeches, huh?

[there's empathy in his voice... though there's a part of him that knows, outside of this place, he wouldn't have handled it very well either]

Yeah. I mean I've seen my share of strange. In fact, it's kind of my specialty. But there's a few things here that make it almost garden variety.

Call me curious, tell me about one of the weirdest things you've ever had to deal with back home.

[ head tilt, as she pockets her headphones and tucks her music player back into her back pocket ]

[that gets a laugh] My partner and I deal with murders. Weird tends to be the tame end of it.

Still..don't know about the weirdest...but a glowing skeleton is up in my top five.
