I ended up meeting her on a loss, when I turned into a small fox. I wasn't able to talk. Some guy even tried using me to impress her and acted like I was his pet.

I actually managed to meet her normally when that weird high school thing happened.

I met Penny when I was on a loss, too. [Small pause,] You know, I don't think Penny has ever met me off a loss yet ... [Since she certainly wasn't 'normal' for the high school thing ...]
