[Kanda is standing in front of the castle practicing various techniques with his sword, Mugen. Suddenly, he stops and draws two fingers down the length of the blade. Apparently his sword has its own theme song for activation, so imagine this is playing]
Innocence, activate.
[a burst of bright light flickers across the blade until it sparks and Kanda finds himself knocked onto his ass and his sword twenty yards away stuck straight up in the ground]

[as he stands, a rectangular object falls from his pocket and flutters to the ground. A flash in color catches his eye. When he picks it up, he notices it has a very strange property about it. This is no ordinary photograph.
As he moves the photo across the landscape, the scene inside changes. There is a group of people... most he doesn't recognize, but one he's certain he's seen before. During the spider fiasco, one of the residents. They're all smiling and waving.]

[he first retrieves his sword before taking another look. When he moves, he notices the photo returns to its undeveloped state. Well, that's odd. Is it possible these are "First Generations" he's heard about? He suddenly looks into the journal]
