[Shizuru doesn't even like the gym that much (it's in serious need of an air freshener). Why is she in it? Oh, right, because there's no point to training if she isn't going to push herself, ie. tolerating the overwhelming smell of stale sweat. And going outside is troublesome

He appears to be playing a game with a box -- more specifically, a box with scribbled-on features and chopstick appendages.]

Vulcan, you are quite the fast runner! [Gash grins at the said object in his hands, his voice loud and full of youthful energy.]

--Unuuu? [And that's when he notices that he's not alone.]

[Gash's voice makes her open her eyes and look up. What is a kid doing in here...?]

Are you perhaps lost?

[Slowly he shakes his head. While that may be true, he's far too preoccupied with whatever game he last invented.]

I'm with Vulcan! [The boy then quickly hops to a bench close by Shizuru, he cheerfully showing off the said object.]

He knows the way all over this place, isn't that so?

That must be impressive. [...is what she says, although in reality she's just trying to look interested. She bends forward slightly, as if to get a better look]

What brings you two here, in that case?

[surveys the scene for a long moment, eyebrow raised]

You're supposed to sit up, I think.

[cracks open one eye, then runs a hand over her face. She really does look as if she just woke up, like this]

Aah. Yes, that's right...my goodness, I didn't hear you enter.

I don't always need to make a grand entrance, you know.

The times when you don't are more memorable, actually. [grand entrance or lack thereof, it doesn't seem to bother her much either way]
