...I am uncertain; I never thought to ask if some people were brought to this place or sent home with any kind of frequency or notable pattern, and merely that the Castle chose those things whenever it became bored with someone or wanted someone new here.

But considering how many beings have been brought to this place since people first began arriving, and how frequently people leave as well, I would not be surprised if some were not brought back at all.

[A magical castle that kidnaps people when it gets bored. I never thought I'd believe it.]

'Not brought back at all'... I guess it'd be better off that way, huh.

That does seem to be the general consensus on the matter; but such things seem to differ from person to person depending on the circumstances they may have been under when leaving their world. Not everyone minds being in this place after all, and for some people they even prefer it.

However... Regardless of whether it is "better off" for the person leaving, people who depart from this place are rarely not missed by the residents of the Castle that remain.

I can see why they would. The only problem I'm having with this place is the whole 'loss' thing and all the weird things that haven been happening. [And being stuck, but that was kind of obvious.]

... Yeah, I would imagine. That's typically the case with friends, right?

Then it seems as though you are adapting quite well! Comparatively speaking, at the very least; I have seen some people who reacted very poorly to being here, even after quite some time had passed.

... I suppose it would be, would it not? But despite that being the case, the residents of this place almost always say that it is "for the best" or "they are better off", even though the people that leave are often missed. That is something that I am still trying to understand about the people here.

I did at first, but it's not like it'll solve anything.

It's... just human nature, I guess? I can't say I'm the best person to explain it, but...

It most certainly will not, no; there is often very little point in creating a fuss about being here.

[A pause.] Oh, there is no need; I have been doing my best to understand things like that since my arrival here, at least to some degree, and I do not expect others to be able to explain it to me.

It gets annoying sometimes.

Yeah, it's just something you've gotta figure out.

Admittedly, it is somewhat repetitive, but considering how often people are actually brought to this place it really cannot be helped.

I would like to think that I have learned quite a bit about such matters since my arrival here! But likewise, it seems as though there may be some things that I will never be able to understand. [...] But that aside, if a friend of yours has left this place... I do hope that you will be able to see them again, either within this place or outside of it.

I guess so.

Yeah, it's impossible to understand everything. [But...] ... Thanks, I hope so too.
