[Sitting in the TARDIS, journal in his lap, feet propped up on the console.]

And, yeah, thanks everyone for your quick and prompt responses, I've taken a note of who wants to stay and who wants to go, and anyone who hasn't said anything is just going to have to deal. Anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, kindly take a look back and do ( Read more... )

Sorry, who's this?

[Puzzled Doctor is puzzled.]

Louise Gardenier, eh? I'm the Doctor, pleasure to meet you and all.

It's alright, I've been head-deep in equations, math, numbers, trying to figure this blasted place out.

No, no, just the Doctor.

And a little of everything.

[Very good then. Hopefully no guns involved. ... And he's used to making the spiel, don't worry.]

I can and I will.

Just... as soon as I figure out how, actually, but I'm working on that. I'm all about plans.

[That's good, guns are generally pretty unnecessary in the Doctor's book.]

[Blimey, and there we go, ladies crying at him. It wasn't long before someone was going to do so, but the Doctor is a sympathetic sort, and even though he can't see Louise - nor she him, his face softens and in turn, his voice.]

It'll be alright. Hey, if it's encouraging at all, some reports say we don't lose any time at all when we go back. It'll just be like you had some strange dream, and you can pick up right where you left off.

[He hopes he's right about this.]

Through a glass darkly, a mirror dimly and all?

Yeah. Sort of a bit of a godsend for me as it were, but y'know, life throws us ... a castle full of cats and we have to sort of roll with it.

Really, it'll be alright, I'm sure.

Castle gets bored. Turns people into cats?

Yeah...

[Because that's not disconcerting enough.]

I'm pretty sure we're dealing with some highly advanced alien technology, or even an alien itself, the castle just being an incredibly strong psychic illusion. We haven't been able to identify what point exactly in time we're at, and let me tell you, that's been incredibly disconcerting, it's like... I don't know. Motion sickness. My ship's not too happy about it either, poor thing, been grumbling since we got here. And it'd have to be an indeterminate point, anyway, since there are three of me here, and then there's all the other people, from what I can tell, all from different planets, times, locations, even universes, it'd seem like.

Menacing flesh-eating alien? That's always exciting.

[He doesn't really. Menacing, flesh-eating anything tends to be his modus operandi.]
