A Moment for Your Thoughts....

I know this must seem a rather morbid topic, but....

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts here were considering the after life, or perhaps what your religion speaks on it if you do not have an opinion. I would appreciate your indulgence in this.

I've been to Heaven. It sucked.

I see. Should I then not wish for a soul to go "Heaven"?

Well ... no. Generally that's the place everyone wants to go.

My world's version just happened to suck.

So what is your world's "Heaven" like then, if I might ask?

[imnot_likeyou]

Basically reliving your greatest hits. Any good memory you have, you just relive it over and over again for the rest of eternity. Sometimes, after a while, people settle in a version of Heaven that's their "home" but for the most part you're just reliving things you already lived.

It does not sound so horrible, though I do suppose reliving the same memory again and again would grow monotonous after a time.

Yeah, well -- when the inhabitants who live there are trying to mentally break you to get you to do their bidding? It's not so fun.

Ah, no, I can see how that might be less desirable. So then where do you hope to go when you die?

That ship's sort of ... already sailed. And it's not where I ideally want to be, but I had reasons for going there.

There are actually quite a few people in the castle who are dead at home. It's just a matter of where they got picked up.

I suppose it does make sense, perhaps. I had never thought of it really. Everyone here seems alive, so you tend to just think of them as that - not souls.

Makes sense. And most of the people try not to think of themselves as dead either.

No, I suppose one would not want to think that way. Dying is difficult and accepting the death I imagine is harder, if one is aware of such a thing when the deed is done.
