I learned something very interesting today: it seems that until the 1400s, kisses such as ones exchanged under the mistletoe meant that a couple was engaged.
Perhaps this is why people become so ruffled when they are forced into enchanted kisses. Though I personally find nothing wrong with kissing strangers. I'm sure that I've done it many times in the past with both males and females.
