[Thanks to Lorne, Lois has spent a few days fully believing she's a gritty noir detective.  Somewhere she even managed to find a fedora and a trenchcoat.  Don't ask.  Anyways, the italicized "narration" can actually be heard by your character  - she just fully believes that it can't be.

It's also fully audible when she lights up a cigarette upon ( Read more... )

Lang. One of the people I wanted to see.

What do you think about what happened out there? You got the fly on the wall view after all.

Is this how they talk at the Daily Planet, now?

Honestly my view wasn't as good as most others, since I was stuck outside the gate. Sadly enough on guard duty that was completely useless considering none of us were able to tell when they snuck up on us, and we had to be brought inside for protection.

Don't see what the newsies have to do with it, girlie.

Given some of you were on edge enough to suggest guard duty in the first place, sounds like someone suspected a flimfalm. Though what the grift was, exactly, is about as clear as mud right now.

They didn't give up any signs as to how they knew you were all there, I'm guessing? Just a clean sneak?

Skid...rogues.

I haven't heard talk like that for quite a few decades...

Not a big fan of complicated.

Black, white, or bourbon, I'll take.

That I can understand. [Even if it was a joke... Not sure.]

Sometimes it's better to settle for what you have.

Can't close a case that's still an open sore. Settling's not an option.

At least not for a sleuth like me. Not about to rake in any dough letting someone else crack the case, and these bills aren't coming in any slower.
