Blah blah, people disappearing, blah blah -- [ abrupt halt, you can practically hear her rolling her eyes. ] Yeah, don't care. Moving on.

Here's a fun question: say the castle takes an object from you. Any guesses on secret trapdoors or locked basements where it might stash it? And you can save your sarcastic quips about everyone grabbing ( Read more... )

[she considers passing this over...but...]

Honestly, the most likely place is the Insolitus. I don't think anyone's been able to properly explore it.

Insolitus. That's the eleventh floor, right? [ Look she's ... done a lot of wandering. It's a hobby. ] The hell's in there, anyway? And why hasn't anyone been able to get a good look?

That'd be the one. It's a maze, mostly. The further you go in, the bigger it looks.

...I haven't gone far myself. I kind of made a promise I wouldn't [without company] but from what others have stumbled across there's at least one room full of unclaimed items and a left-over monster from one of the castle's less friendly world-jumps.

And no one's thought to bring the cavalry in and try to get past it? How seriously retarded do people here have to be not to put together that you don't throw your Cerberus around unless you've got ringside seats to the gates of Hades?

[arching an eyebrow. That has to be one of the more interesting analogies she's heard] They have gotten past it. That's how they found the room. What's in question is if there's anything else down there, too.

I'm guessing the ones who found the room weren't smart enough to draw a map.

I honestly don't know. I'm pretty sure at least one of them, did, actually. You can probably find it in the library.

... What do you know. Someone in this rathole's actually useful once in a while. [ seriously awkward pause. ] Thanks.

[Because Felix has been reading over his journal trying to figure out what the heck is going on, this particular entry catches his attention. And now he has an excuse to ask directions.]

I beg your pardon. I was hoping to visit the library myself and I find I am need of some directions. Might you be willing to meet me or tell me where I can find it?

What, and looking didn't occur to you? [ Hnnn ... but considering Jilly was actually helpful, she figures she can not look like an ass in this entry and ... pay it forward. :| She guesses. ]

Fine, whatever. Kitchen's on the first floor, meet me there in ten. Capiche?

[Felix just smirks because, yes, it had, but he was also aware of his propensity to get lost.]

Assuming that I need only go down from here, yes, I think I can manage. Though you may want to give me more than ten minutes.

Ten. You take more than that, I'll be gone and on my way back to the library. That wasn't a platform for negotiation, I don't care where you're coming from.

[ Sure enough, she'll make good on her word and wait down in the kitchen, trying to tell herself she's not going to regret playing tour guide. ]

[Despite his worry, Felix doesn't exactly want to stay stuck in this room forever, so he heads downstairs as quickly as he can without breaking his neck. He takes a few wrong turns once he reaches the lobby. In fact, Ruby might just about now be deciding to leave without him when he walks in, looking rather stern-faced and a little winded. He even manages a small smile, even if he wasn't thrilled about the time limit.

He's pretty striking-looking. Wavy fire-red hair, one yellow eye, one blue eye, four gold rings in each ear, and standing somewhere around 6'2". And he's dressed rather old-fashioned in a jacket and waistcoat.]

[ She almost runs into him as she begins to make her way to the door of the kitchen, ready to ditch him, but stops short, eyebrows raised. ]

Guess that makes you my Lost Boy, huh? I was expecting someone a little less ... flamboyant. [ A shrug. ] Well, whatever. Library's this way. [ She makes a gesture for him to turn around and head back for the lobby. ]
