[Despite her hard work, the careful effort, and all the hours she'd put in to the Mule, Kaylee wasn't actually sure it would work until she turned the key and felt the machinery hum to life under her fingertips. It worked. Four months of effort and blueprints (and maybe a few too many midnight pieces of cake) and she had a bit of home that she'd created herself. With the realization comes a startled laugh, picked up by the journal]
*Jing tsai! It works. It actually works!
[There's a voice not far off, and you can almost hear the smirking. Not that he had any doubt.] How about that?
[there's the sound of metal and motor and fabric as she climbs out of the Mule to fetch the journal properly, her voice become much more clear]
Well, seein' as how this is actin' the way it's supposed to, guess we should let people know. I've got the Mule up and runnin' and, since there's people still stranded out in the Dead Zone, it only seemed fair to see if we can't lend a bit of a hand. So Spike and I...we're gonna take her out. Just so's no one's lookin' for us while we're gone.
*Brilliant
[Stranded]
Don't know if any of you've figured out what direction you are from the castle, but if you tell us which side you're on, we can join in the bunch comin' out to fetch you. Ain't no need to have people walkin' back when we can offer a ride.

I ain't thinkin' we'll have any troubles, but I'm bringin' my tools along, just in case. An' the journals of course. I figure we'll be back in a few days.
...Don't go gettin' into any trouble, alright?

[ooc: open over the journal. Purple is Kaylee, Blue is Spike Spiegel.
NOTE: This will end with them
crashing the Mule, so people they "rescue" should be aware]
