[The cemetery, now that it's nearing the end of the festivities, looks a little different. Decorative throw pillows, if you didn't leave any customary ones for your dearly departed, have been provided for all of the graves, sitting neatly near the flowers and other decorations and offerings. A table has been placed next to the entrance, an

It's a little awkward, sitting with one's fiancé in front of his own gravestone, but Amy is determined to make the best of it. Therefore, they're reminiscing about good times they shared back in Leadworth]

... Remember the time in year eleven you convinced me to skip school with you and we took a train to Bristol?
Reply
It only took... what? An hour of batting my eyelashes at you.

Didn't stop me from worrying or complaining the whole way there though ... but I can admit it now, the idea of spending a whole day alone with you, away from Leadworth, was really too much to resist. [he nudges her with his elbow] You know I spent that whole day hoping you'd kiss me?
Reply
Why didn't you kiss me, you big idiot?
Reply
Because we were--we were--at that stage. You know. [nudges her again] After the first time we, um, kissed.
[he remembered how he'd thought, at the time, that that would somehow automatically make them An Item, and how very wrong, and crushed, he'd been]
But we were still just mates. I didn't know if I was allowed to!
[even if they still had the occasional snog]
Reply
You should have done it anyway. I wouldn't have minded.
Reply
You could've kissed me too, you know.
[sighs, and breathes in the smell of her hair]
But it was a good day. I did have fun. That park was lovely, and I don't think I've had a better curry since ...
Reply
Maybe I wanted you to kiss me.
[which had been the case at the time; him being the more shy out of the two of them, she'd considered the idea of him making the first move to be much more thrilling than simply kissing him herself]
I should have let you try the curry the castle gave me... I wouldn't have minded you spitting it out.
Reply
Eurgh, Amy ... I would have minded spitting it out, that's just--disgusting.
[which he realizes is a double standard but for some reason spitting out liquid is less offensive to him than chewed food]
How long did you get grounded for again when we got back?
[because of course they'd been caught, the ticket seller at the train station recognized them]

[she's leaning comfortably into him now]
Like I hadn't been capable of taking care of myself for years by then.
Reply
[comfortably leaning back, his thumb idly worrying at her shoulder]
Didn't stop you from sneaking over at night though ... like when that one psychiatrist said we needed to be separated? [he's quiet for a moment as he remembers: more nights spent sitting on the roof outside his bedroom window, despite the danger of being caught and being grounded even longer. He'd gotten up the nerve to kiss her a few times before she got tired of waiting on him. Those hours had flown by all too quickly]
Was all a bit terribly romantic, looking back on it, don't you think?
Reply
So romantic we didn't even notice it was romantic.
[she hadn't been after romance at the time, not exactly; she hadn't snuck out to see him with the express intent of hoping to be romanced, anyway. The kissing had just been an added bonus]
Reply
Story of our lives, probably.
[he turns his face to press a small kiss to her temple before settling back against her]
Your turn then ... give us a good memory.
Reply
How about the time you punched out Jeff at the lake?
Reply
That--that was horrid. [laughs more] And very embarrassing, I can't believe you remember that.
