[ Private ]

[ The gentle scritching of a pen goes here; Prince is in his room, the newest change striking a note a little closer to home than he would have liked. A new, strange place he can deal with, but becoming a child again? It just reminds him of better days. ]

It seems that changing into strange new forms is becoming a habit of mine. Though this one is undoubtedly familiar - this castle's power must be even greater than I had imagined, to hold such dominion over time to turn me back into the body of a child, yet retain all memory - it recalls too much of my life in Babylon for my mind to be at ease. Before we set out for Azad...before I laid my hand upon the dagger and changed everything for all time.

Father...if you could see me now, would you be proud of what I have done here? Babylon is saved, and I shall rule her in the hope of being half the man you were, but this place seems determined to remind me of just how great this was. Allowing me to run and leap through the city below our palace and learn of the lives of all our people; training me to be a warrior and an acrobat, rather than grow fat and tired on nobility. It pains me that I cannot bring you back to life as I did Farah...as I did for Kaileena, though our time was short together. But I know this is what must be.

If you were here, you would tell me that I am a great man and a fine Prince, and that I must conduct myself as such even while in strange lands. [ A pause in the writing, the page blotting slightly from drips of ink. ] These lands are much stranger than any even you would have imagined, I think.

But I am growing melancholy, and nothing will come of sitting and writing to one who has passed on. Only action can change my course...I have already shown you that I can change my own fate.

[ Halloween ]

The people I am forced to share rooms with are boorish, uncultured, and outright foolish. I do not wish to waste any further time in their presence.

Come to the 'gymnasium' so that we might continue our training. You have already fallen several days behind.

[ And finally, as he turns in his desk to face the already worrying assignments sitting in an ordered pile, he gives an aggravated sigh into the journal. ]

If we are only to be here for a week, I see no point in wasting time with such endeavours. Learning for its own sake is an acceptable diversion, but studying these topics which will only be relevant... [ flip flip, checkin' Raine's assignment ] Some twenty-three hundred years after my life has ended?

Surely there are much more important things to be done, even if we are imprisoned here for the duration. I hardly think our lives will be endangered if we refuse to waste paper on a fool's errand.

(ooc: Open and journal!)
