Walter Kovacs' Blog. August 26th.

Aug 26, 2010 14:39

[it's been a while since Smecker and his gang game and gave him his faaaabulous makeover. most of it has been disregarded and returned to normal, but Walter's kept a few of the nice suits and the other clothes. most of all, though, he's been staring at the blog page that Wybie helped him set up. it needs words, but he hasn't been sure what to say. somehow, his usual conspiracy ramblings about the dark things in the castle walls seem wrong...

... and suddenly, out of the blue, as he's sitting in his room with the journal open, listening to something from the music room, he remembers his recent conversation with Coraline. setting down his sandwich, he moves to the computer. the journal will pick up the sounds of his typing - slow and awkward at first, but steadily getting faster.

the words, however, will show up on CastleNet as follows.]

I was told to put my words out here, for you all to read. Give them a more aesthetic value than paint on cardboard, wider depth, more meaning than "the end is nigh".

Truth is: the end is always nigh. We can all go home at any moment. The world can change. People can die - permanently or only for weeks. Change ends things, too. Something you have might not be what it was. Beginning to realize that that doesn't mean it's gone. Just different.

I know I'm different, after being here over a year. There are things I see in myself I would not have, when I arrived. A tendency to think a little more before I act. Knowledge that maybe not everything is black and white. The value of friends, no matter what happens to them, or how long they leave you for. Slightly better grammar.

Not as inclined to run around breaking limbs and thumbs, anymore. This world is not the world I left, and there are new rules; rules that always change. Not all secrets are meant to be known.

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop looking. Or fighting. But it does mean I've changed how I go about it.

How has Paradisa changed you? Write back here, or over the journal.

- Walter Kovacs

[he stares at the entry for a moment, trying to decide if he really wants to put this out there. then, after a lot of "radio silence", he reaches out and clicks "Post to CastleNet".

it's surprising how good that feels.

with that, he's going to head on down to the kitchen, grab a can of beans out of the cupboard, open it up, and ... sit on the counter eating straight out of it with a fork. SOME things are never meant to change.]
