[it is a normal, lovely morning in Paradisa! the birds are singing, the people in the glass building outside are just done with being forced to perform demeaning stunts, and the Hatchins are finally taking a shower. she's even going to wash her hair! Michiko would be so proud. :'(
then, seemingly out of nowhere, there is a piercing shriek echoing off the bathroom walls. it's short, but ridiculously loud! so it should be easily audible to Rita... and possibly other people on the same floor, but that's neither here nor there. also, a much quieter thunk.]
