[recorded in the background, as if something has just occurred to Lavi and he's thinking out loud] Well, who'd wanna get rusty, right?
[there is a pause before he makes the next filter, though. There can't be anything wrong with making sure that he's not relying on his Innocence any more than necessary; it doesn't have to reflect anything other

Lavi! I suppose it has been some time, has it not? Though, I cannot say that I truly know just how long it has been since we last spoke... [since time is difficult to keep track of. 8( ]
Things have been peculiar as of late, but it is nothing that I cannot become accustomed to. What of yourself? Have you been well?

Peculiar? [a pause]

[and cue a slightly dismissive tone.] It is not something of great importance, I believe. Merely a few friends that have left - but as I said, it is nothing that I cannot become accustomed to.
It is good to hear that you are doing well, however.

[notes the tone] You don't miss those guys?

[pause.] ...No, of course I miss them. I do not miss the Thief at all - he could be quite troublesome at times, and he was not my friend - but Bakura, Ryou and Tyki were all good friends to me.

Tyki, too, huh... You guys got along? [a pause] Well, it's too bad about Ryou. He must've left a couple of friends behind here.

He was a friend of mine, yes - he even saved some alligator meat for me to try once. ...or perhaps it was crocodile? Oh, but you should not worry; I am aware that Tyki was "a bad person". Priscilla was quite upset by Ryou's departure, however.

[a pause] Alligator meat...? S'okay, I wasn't gonna tell you that. I figured things like that probably wouldn't make a huge difference anyway. [since death doesn't pick good or bad people over each other or judge in the first place, he's assuming - and it doesn't seem like Pharos would need any warnings, either]
Huh? ... Actually, yeah, I was gonna ask if you had any luck going back to the library, after that one time. The castle didn't get in the way or anything, right?

[there's a moment of silence there, though. it's sort of refreshing, the attitude change, considering all the fretting Uru tended to do and how worried she'd been when she found out he hung with Noahs regularly.] That is exactly right! It would make no difference whatsoever. You seem to worry far less than some of the other people that I have met; or perhaps it is simply that you understand better? I am uncertain, but it is a nice change, to say the least.
[small, small laugh.] No, the Castle did not interfere; I was able to go back and look through most of the rest of the books some time later. I do not believe I have looked through all of them just yet, however.

But I guess worrying's pretty normal. To tell you the truth, I just thought you're fine taking care of yourself and you've gotta know what you're getting yourself into talking to a guy like Tyki.
So it didn't take back any of those books you found, either?

....You do not see me as a child at all. [why no, that isn't a question; though he sounds more like he's talking to himself again.] I hardly mind, however; while I do enjoy living the way that I do, I dislike worrying Minato and Uru as much as I seem to. But again, you are right; no one in this place can kill me, and as such, being near Tyki was no danger to me. Even if his abilities were... very peculiar.

Even if Ryou has gone, I would prefer to keep an eye on those books, so I will not leave them in the library for longer than necessary.

[so it was for Ryou] You're really serious about those, huh? Good to know the castle's got no problems with it after all, so far.
