[007] Interviews

May 30, 2010 21:04

[Dictated in clipped British tones.]

I have assumed responsibility for the library, and wish to hire assistants. If you are interested in literacy, and have a good respect for the written word then please apply.

The applicant for my personal assistant must be fluent in English.

[that would be a good way to keep an eye on things there...]

Would physical age or size have any relevancy to being hired? ...and I do not necessarily need it, but for curiosity's sake, would being "hired" imply payment?

Physical size would not be a hinderance, but a small child should not be working in a library - some heavy lifting of books may be required and a child may injure themselves.

A small renumeration will be offered, but nothing substantial.

In that case, if you do not mind me, I can certainly help; it may take some time, as I cannot lift heavy things at all, but you do not need to worry about my being injured while working either.

Of course, should you feel the need, whatever remuneration I would be receiving could be lessened as you see fit because of that.

I see. How old are you?

bedninja May 30 2010, 21:20:48 UTC
...Physically, I would say that I am ten-- though I have had a "birthday" since arriving here, it does not seem as though people age in this place, so that likely has little relevancy. [besides, he's not sure he'd age even if other people did.]

You have quite the vocabulary for a ten year old. How are your literacy skills?

bedninja May 30 2010, 21:31:10 UTC
I have never actually put much thought into my literacy skills. But I have "skimmed" through a number of the books in the demonology section of the library and understood most of what I read. Would that be any indication?

If you wouldn't mind coming to the library? I feel a more personal interview is in order.

I would not mind at all. Did you wish to meet with me now, or some time in the future?

If now is convenient..? I'm sorry, I don't believe I know your name.

--Oh! I apologize, I likely should have mentioned that earlier; I am called Pharos. And I am not busy right now, so I would not at all mind meeting with you.

Not at all, and I am Wesley Wyndam-Pryce; feel free to come by as soon as you wish.

It is nice to meet you, Wesley. I will be there to see you shortly.

((ooc; action log here, or did you want to just assume things?))

Very well.

[ooc: Action log if you like! I'm up for it... or we can assume if you don't want to.]

action log it is! library filter from here on out and whatnot bedninja May 30 2010, 22:07:14 UTC
[it's probably possible to hear his journal being flipped shut, and... maybe after about ten minutes or so - likely a bit faster than it would normally take someone to reach the library unless they had been nearby to begin with, normally - Pharos ambles into the library, glancing around.

how was he going to find this person, anyway? ....he really should have thought of that sooner. but judging from the conversation, at least, he'd seemed human.]

[He's been on the lookout for a small boy, so he steps forwards with a small smile.]

Pharos?
