[someone makes a disgusted noise as a hand of cards hits the table] Ugh... Fold.

Too bad, gentlemen. [a pause as Mat displays his hand with a flourish] Full House.

[There's some muttering as the men in question leave the table, followed by the sound of shuffling cards] Better luck, next time. Anyone else care for a go?

[oh hey... this thing was open! Have a pause until he recognizes the voice. Then? You can practically hear the grin.]

We could set up a game when I'm back at the castle. [he couldn't really picture her in a bar, but he offers anyway] Or you're welcome to join me here,if you'd like. I'm at the-

[a pause as he leans away from the journal] Oi! What's the name of this place again?

[And here she comes, she's been in much worse places than a bit of a dodgy tavern, although she does look out of place in her sari and bare feet.

She spots him and offers him a warm smile.]

It's nice to see you again, Mat.

[he's in a circle of rather disgruntled looking men, a beer at his elbow. He jumps up to his feet when she speaks, though.] Miss Lilith!

[with a smile, he'll toss his cards on the table] Fold, lads. [which gets a round of relieved smiles from the others gathered there.]

Let me get you a chair.

[She smiles at the other men, offering them a friendly 'good afternoon'.]

[they're eying her a bit, but they stay polite enough, seeing as Mat's giving them all warning glances over Lilith's shoulder before speaking up, cheerfully] Well now, who's in for another round, sans bets?

[there's a bit of grumbling as two of the seated players and a handful of watchers clear out, their interest lost, but two more stay and Mat quickly takes one of the abandoned seats next to Lilith] So, have you played anything like this before, miss?

I just learned this one, myself. Game called Poker?

I know Poker, although I was never a gambling woman.

Then just a round for fun, maybe?

[She nods and the men deal her and Mat in, grumbling a little over being made to play without stakes.]

[Their grumbling starts to slow as the game gets underway, however. Mat's face suddenly becomes hard to read as he kicks off the "betting."]
