It was psychologically forced. People probably felt guilty to feel anything else but affection for these creatures forced upon them.

Of course it does. It wasn't natural. Completely induced by the circumstances forced upon them. Such as a drug, or Stockholm Syndrome. They are coping mechanisms that would not exist otherwise.

But... f-feelings aren't l-logical.... E-even if it wasn't natural, p-people may still become a-attached to something, th-things do grow on people....

Feelings are not logical, but true feelings should not be based upon circumstances where no free will was involved.

Affection wasn't f-forced... only the d-duty of caring for them.... You c-can care for something... and n-not have to like it or f-feel anything towards it.
