No matter the strength, nor the persistance of my tone, he would not come.
Time has certainly been a perplexing concept, but never as such.
What sort of force could obstruct {overpower, nullify?} the contract?

Boundaries and limits are set to be challenged. Let's see how well you fare at this game now that you've arrived, Sebastian.

[ Ciel Phantomhive in the library, part ii. this time around, the young earl is appropriately dressed carefully perusing row after row of large, dusty tomes, each heavier and more yellowpaged than the next. in one hand he holds the journal, and the other, a delicate quill which he uses to absently scrawl titles which catch his eye. the list is impressive, however the titles are rarely written in full, but rather in shorthand - or occasionally not all, replaced by numbers or descriptions of the book itself. it wouldn't do to have the entire castle know what his reading list is, now would it?

still, if one were particularly adept at decoding his scribbles (or you know, somehow knew the library and its extensive contents by heart), they might recognize tell-tale snippets such as The Goetia, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, and Edgar Allan Poe's The Philosophy of Composition. ]

Sebastian.

[ what - do you expect him to pick them all off the shelves and carry them himself? ]
