... Whining is an action taken by those too weak to solve their problems to make them feel as though they have accomplished something. I have given the castle instruction. Whether they choose to follow it or not is not my affair.

Indeed. Then one should measure the value of this friendship before committing themselves to any undue suffering at their parting. If you feel as though you have been wronged by the loss of a loved one, one should either take steps to right this wrong or accept the injustice of this world.
