Your last line is right on. Now is the time. I've spent years waiting to do this or that, to only find my chances are gone. NOt all my chances, but for those particular dreams.
I think it would be really cool to teach a year in Japan. A lady I used to know online told me if I got a college degree of any sort her son could get me on where he taught and that I could live with him. I'm not sure I'd want to live with him, but it was a nice thought, anyway.
Antarctica: Woah! I think that would be super, super cool. I watched a documentary about it before and thought that I"d like to go there, but I have absolutely no skill that would allow me in. I really hope you'll get to do this, I know it will be an experience that you'll always cherish. Wow, I have to go tell my sis this.
Keep me posted! Zach, not that it matters, but I support you 100% in whatever you want to do. I'm proud to know someone that doesn't just dream but goes out and does thing!
all you need to teach english in japan is a bachelors degree. japan has one of the best programs in the world for bringing english speakers over. korea, from what i hear, has one of the worst. unfortunately a lot of the others will only employ EU citizens.
you should always follow your dreams wuben. dreams are what life is made of.
thanks for the support. i'll keep you posted on any of the news.
Japan is really top-notch in a lot of ways. If I had a bachelors degree in something or another, I could go to Japan and finally have sex with a sumo wrestler.

I know! That is good advice....I hope I take it someday.

sex with a sumo wrestler eh? they are top celebrities you know...you could be rich if you get with one!
not that im trying to tell you what to do, but if you are interested in going to school, roane state cc is in your town. they have an art ed program that could transfer to about 12 other colleges for a bachelors program. and it appears that you could probably do their as degree in 1.5 years http://www.rscc.cc.tn.us/keyword.asp?keyword=ACADEMIC%20PROGRAMS
since you once mentioned that you didnt think that getting an art degree would suit you because you like what you do, but not necessarily what others tell you to do, art ed might be better suited for you.

I could give him all the love that a Sumo and his dirty, dirty Yen can buy! ;)
Thanks for the idear. I have been hearing a lot about the Roane State CC here lately. My 18 year old cousin is taking some classes. I might be more open to an art ed thing. I would like to learn more....my brain is still growing. ;)
