soooooo, this past week i was in sunny florida!
i flew down there to go to a convention and to visit my students at EPCOT, but I was also able to squeeze in some time with my gramma and my mom.
my moms new house is literally on the beach! with the storms that were there, high tide was only a few feet from their windows. that was a little scary, but being able to walk the beach and search for seashells in the mornings totally made up for it.
the wildlife there is absolutely incredible. everywhere there were little yellow crabs (we dont like them because they eat baby sea turtles), blue crabs, a bobcat, otters, land turtles, opossum, raccoons, pelicans and other various sea fowl. apparently there is a panther in the neighborhood too! up in my gramma's hood in central florida she has gators and turtles, both of which i saw again hanging about in the canals.
it was great seeing them again, and i absolutely can not wait to go back for the holidays. this next time i hope to get more individual time with them rather than group time.
i am sure glad to be back however. ones own bed is always the best. my internet and cable were out for 10 days, and it was supposed to be fixed while i was gone but they never came. i was all over that one when i got back and now i am back to being connected WOOO!
