Whoa... livejournal is... different now. Took me a minute to figure out how to update...
I had the pleasure of just seeing Tori Amos for the third time with my sister and her friend Jesse (who happens to be Heather's ex-boyfriend). Ben Folds opened, and even though it was just him and his piano for most of his set, he was great. He even played "Brick", which was amazing. The show was taped, and there was a huge overhanging boom going around everywhere throughout the show filming it from several different angles. I noticed Tori played the song "Tombigbee" twice, which was probably because she wasn't satisfied with the first version that she played. Before introducing her band, she got really emotional, and was visibly in tears, mouthing "I love you guys" and touching her heart with both of her hands. She said she loved it here and was happy to be ending the tour here (tonight was the final show of her summer tour). Toward the end of the show, the cameras panned in over the audience in our direction, so there's a chance that my sister and I were actually filmed at some point during the concert. I was unable to bring my camera inside, but I have a feeling that since the show was taped, the footage will be released on video. Also, Tori's own parents were sitting a few seats away from us, which really blew my mind. My sister told me to talk to them, but I decided it would be best not to, because I couldn't think of anything to say other than "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Amos, I just wanted to personally thank you for giving birth to a goddess."
Tori's setlist was pretty good this time around:
Wampum Prayer
a sorta fairytale
Sugar
Crucify
Cornflake Girl
Bells For Her
Concertina
Take To The Sky/Muhammad My Friend outtro
Wednesday
Leather
Cloud on my Tongue
Cooling
Your Cloud

Professional Widow
I Can't See New York
Precious Things
1st Encore
Sweet Sangria

I was really impressed that she played "Professional Widow". It was glorious. Kacie was there too, because her mom won four tickets to the show on the radio this morning. It was a great show, and I will never forget it.
