(DAY THIRTY-THREE: How real servants act.)
QUESTION TO CONSIDER:
Which of the six characteristics of real servants offers the greatest challenge to me?
--------------------------
The first characteristic presents the greatest challenge to me: Real servants make themselves available to serve. I set aside limited time for God each week: prayer, daily textual devotional, and attending church service once a week. I am not making myself available to serve because I am getting caught up and selfish with my free time. Often times I just want to relax with my free time, watch TV, or read a book. This is very selfish and does not honor God. There are so many ways each and every night to serve God. I need to make it a priority to make time for God amongst practicing with the band, spending time with Aimee, planning for a wedding, and teaching full-time. Even if it means taking up Chancel Choir each week or helping out one night a week at a soup kitchen, I must work to fulfill my purpose on this earth and I must be more mindful of the time I devote each week to serving God.
