Two weeks of rehearsal, and we've blocked the entire show; or shall I say we've reviewed and tweeked the blocking for the entire show. Since this is repertory theatre and they've done this show for thirteen seasons, our first run is always of the blocking that has already existed. Fortunately, we have a WONDERFUL director now who really knows what he's doing so he fixes all the major errors, and the show ends up better than ever. There is always some question as to whether the executive producer/owner of the theatre will like the changes (and if not, it's back to the way it was), but generally, I am quite pleased with the quality of what is shaping up. I'm supposed to take this next weekend off to come to Ohio to judge State speech competition IF both I and the show are at a good stage of readiness going into dress rehearsals, but I'm really not sure I feel ready. We'll see...
Kate came down this weekend, and we went house-hunting yesterday afternoon -- found a single-dwelling home that is small but possible and a townhouse that would be more space, closer to the theatre and cheaper (i.e. pretty ideal), even though it doesn't have a garage. Problem: unavailable for possession (we think) until June, and we need it by 4/1. (Yes, we think we've sold our house in Wauseon -- closing 3/15; possession 4/1). We'll see... Thank God for a realtor with whom a friend of ours from PMC put us in contact!
The Beautiful One is pretty lonely in Ohio, and it looks like I may even end up having to take the dog when she has to move out of the house. We really would rather not end up putting our things in storage for two months; but if we have to, I hope we can find a safe, inexpensive (read: free?) place to store it all. We'll see.
As
blzbob would say, until next I journal...
