Damn.

Well, well, well. I had wanted to start the year in relaxation, doing random fun stuff, and the first week was pretty great in this respect. Besides work, I pretty much spent my free time on three things: reading (so good to end the day with a novel, even though I pushed it a little too late into the night a few times - like 2:30 a.m. on a weeknight, oops), making some space on my HDD recorder by watching game shows and quiz shows, and parallelly copy-typing poems from the past to catch up on that a bit. (I had actually wanted to hand-copy a few in January, too, but that's going to be less likely, depending on whether I'll be able to make printouts towards the end of the month when I'm planning to be at the office next.)

I had made this idea collection for January of lots of things I could do.

And now I'm caught off guard by US Nats already being underway and Euros starting on Wednesday.

I hadn't even put them on my list because these events had somehow escaped my mind!

I shouldn't have been surprised that they take place earlier than usual, what with the first Olympic figure skating competition being on Feb. 4 and many spots still not 100% assigned to skaters. But damn, now I'm suddenly far away from just taking it day by day with no rush or pressure, because I was down to 3GB on my entire laptop this morning (waaaaaahhhhhhhh) and I have to come up with solutions and watch, watch, watch stuff. I just caught up on the Thursday competitions. (I guess no new K-drama anytime soon.)

PS/side note: I selected "grumpy" as my mood, which reminds me that I was all confused yesterday by Grumpy Mike because he switched on his camera for the department meeting (usually he switches it off as soon as it starts), there was commotion and he was obviously talking to someone. That left my thoughts somehwat preoccupied. You know how it is.

blablabla, i need a job tag, plans, figure skating
