My wonderful weekend. My annoying Monday. Part 2.

Mar 20, 2012 01:15

I've completed my workload, and I've just watched the entire last show of DSDS from last Saturday (holy crap, how did Vanessa get voted off???), so it's time to comment on the weekend. Which was way too short. ;0)

So my grandpa had invited us to celebrate his birthday on Sunday, and I figured I'd go to Hamburg for this occasion. Actually, I had wanted to go there on Thursday, but my day off got confirmed so late that I had decided to play it safe in the meantime, and I had booked a train for Friday afternoon. I guess it would have been a shame if I had missed the Berlin weather altogether, though. Friday was soooooo beautiful, so warm, and so perfect for a day off. Too bad I didn't really have enough time to make use of that, though, since I still had to pack my suitcase and stuff.

Well, my mom was of course thrilled to get me back. I hadn't told any of my friends that I'd be around, though, because I figured there wouldn't be time. It was a great family weekend, though. My mom had baked a cake for Saturday (peach, and so yummy. one of my faves!), and we went over to one of her sisters (two more sisters joined us) to enjoy the cake. It was really nice to be together with all of them. Then I had the other part of the family around on Sunday (and again such yummy food), so that was indeed perfect. My little girl cousin has definitely hit puberty by now, the poor thing has more pimples than me. My other cousin (the one I used to tutor) arrived a little later because he had a soccer game, and I couldn't help but think that the girls are probably crazy about him. He truly has such beautiful eyes. And stubble in his face. It was weird to realize that he's almost an adult now.

I also went a little shopping on Saturday. In fact, we mainly went because I had lent my mom some money for her move and the new furniture she had to buy, and she wanted to give it to me back in cash, so we needed a bank. We ended up finding a really great fabric for a handbag, however. I dunno - did I mention I got myself a sewing machine because I want to learn how to make my own handbags? :0D I hope I have the right combination of talent and patience for this adventure. LOL

Another highlight of Sunday were the dreams. The night actually sucked. I went to bed much, much too late, what with Schlag den Raab still not being finished after nearly 6 hours and past 2 a.m. Crazy as I am, I still watched the last ep of season 2 of The Vampire Diaries again after that. I'm so excited the third season is finally airing here! There's something fascinating about this show. At times I really wondered WTF they were doing to the plots, but then they always managed to surprise me and to come up with the bigger and even more fascinating picture.
To make a long story short, I woke up after only 4 hours of sleep. Strangely enough, I had dreamed about a museum. Or rather a museum complex. Not sure if I was in search of something or running away - pursuing or being pursued. I only remember I went through this exhibition that was completely orange with cave-like walls and lots of water and real people implemented as construction workers. Of some kind. Some of them moving, most of them trying to stand as still as they could with only the water pumping through some holes. Very modern. It was very surreal and had me look at the building plan to find a way to my destination that would lead me through more interesting exhibitions. The old-fashioned kind.
And then I had another dream after I had fallen asleep again, which was about Berlin and my apartment and MNF. Yeah, it's silly, but it was also cute. He must have come here for me to help him. I don't remember the beginning, but he had books and notes and all that kind of stuff. There were two piles on the armrest of my couch that I remember. Apparently, he had come here to have me help him with something, and apparently he wanted to continue with that - why else would he have left the documents and books here? Funnily enough, he was really hesitant to leave them there. Not that he said anything, I could just see it in his face. The left pile seemed to be only books and not that problematic. The right pile was the one he was worried about. I therefore promised him that he could trust me that I wouldn't touch his stuff at all. He must have believed me because we then went to the door together. Which, for some dream reason, was right of my living-room, not left. My corridor was mirrored, it seems. OK, remember what I wrote about our goodbye in January? He was again stretching out his hand to tell me goodbye. As I was wearing my long-sleeved cardigan that partly covers my hands, I rolled them up a bit. After all, I felt a little ill-mannered in January after I realized I probably should have taken my glove off as well when we shook hands. So, I was rolling up my sleeve and about to grab his hand, when I realized that I should simply say what was going on in my mind. Well, not exactly, because what I was thinking was, "What the hell am I doing here? I'm going out of my way for a handshake when I don't even like handshakes!" Instead, I was starting to say, "You know, actually, when I've spent time with someone before, I'd rather ... ," and I'm not sure at which point it happened, but I didn't even have to finish the sentence and tell him that I'd rather hug. He must have read my thoughts. He caught me by surprise when his arms were suddenly streched out, wrapped around my body, and pulling me close. (My heart reacted in either my sleep, or my dream, or both. And I loved it.) I guess he left then and I woke up again. Happily.

Yeah, that was the gist of my weekend. Now I hope the rest of the week is a little more structured. I've actually intended to throw a little DVD party, but I have yet to decide on a date with my colleague(s). I was thinking of tomorrow, but there was no chance to talk about this today. As you know, my mood was gone, too. And my apartment untidy.

vampire diaries, movies, other shows, i need a job tag, dreams, friends, berlin, dsds, family, yummy
