^_^ I've been reading for the past few hours and got so lost in it that I just now realized that it was 4:45am. I don't think I've ever cursed when looking at the clock before, but for once, time seems to have gotten away from me. (I generally have a very good sense of time.) Anyway, while it is true that I didn't start reading until 1:30am, I defend myself by saying that even though it was on two volumes of manga this was a special case of enjoying that which should be savored. You see, one of said mangas was the last volume of Dramacon, which I have to say really was worth the year-long wait. Svet, the author, has once again reminded me that not all manga are created equal and it really is refreshing to have some deeper issues as well as some wonderfully original and well-executed humor (both in the writing and the drawings). This lady doesn't shy away from the deep shit and it always impresses me when a manga can have me relate to it on a real level. (That and one can get REALLY tired of the same old shoujo fluff which in turn can start affecting you in funny ways like no longer being able to have realistic standards for any kind of romantic relationship and hoping that the moment you meet a hot guy he'll kiss you, sweep you off your feet, and accidently sleep with you in the same bed but not do anything untowards you until your comfortable enough to swear your undying love to him, but uhh... yeah the point is it's nice to have more than the same old re-hashed romantic crap that I already read waaayyy to much of to be healthy.) So the lesson to be learn from this small rant is: Dramacon = Awesomeness AND perfectly captures the cultural life of a con. Two thumbs up! ^_^
I sleep now.
