WORKING WITH SUPERNATURAL SCREENCAPS
The SPN screencaps are toooo damn dark!! I think that is a good way to make them better! I hope you like it!!
I used PS CS2 and i don´t know if it´s translatable to the other programs!!

1 - Open you cap. Crop/resize 100x100 >>
2 - Duplicate the base and set it to Screen - opacity 100% >

3 - Duplicate the base again and set it to Screen - opacity 100% >

4 - Duplicate the base again and set it to Screen - opacity 100% >

5 - Duplicate the base again and set it to Screen - opacity 100% >
>>
*You can add more Screen layer if you need*
5 - Duplicate the base, drag to the top and set it to overlay, opacity 50%

6 - Go to Filter > Other > High Pass * Radius 18,7* Do you have to play with the radius to see what´s the best to your cap!

7 - You can add a blur layer, but it optional. I´m always using a Gaussian blur layer!
Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur *Radius: 1,7*

8 - Now you have to add a Hue/Saturation Layer! Go to Layers > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation. Up the Master Saturation to +25

9 - Merge All layers and you can sharpen once If you want!
And dooooneeeeeeeee!!!
You can add now a texture/brush/text
