Went and saw WALL*E, and can confirm it as my favorite Pixar movie to date. This is saying a lot, because I'm the biggest Pixar fanboy there is. They have never released a bad movie. Ever. This is not an opinion. Sure, there are some I've liked less than others, but even their worst movie (Cars) was better than 90% of the movies released that year.
So, yeah, WALL*E, then, is a masterpiece. I cried. I mean, think about that: I cried during a movie starring animated robots. It isn't all robot love, though. You all know about the cute robot, sure, but there's also some big ideas going on here. It's the most satirical film they've ever done, and I hope they keep that up in the future, because they're really damn good at it.
So, to sum up: the most touching love story I've seen in years, the most biting satire, and the most stunning visuals, and it was in an animated film. Fantastic. Oh! And can I say that how awesome it is that Thomas Newman got Peter Gabriel involved with the score?
My Top 5:
1) WALL*E
2) Finding Nemo
3) The Incredibles
4) Ratatouille
5) Toy Stor
