Shoplifters
My hopes for Shoplifters/Mambiki kazoku was too high. I watched dubbed and subbed versions: dubbed didn't make sense at all, while subbed wasn't bad. (e.g. Matsuoka Mayu said to Ikematsu Sosuke: jp-"Attakai", dub-"It was nice talking to you", sub-"It's warm together". For the context, she said "Attakai"("You're warm" in both versions) to her beloved grandma it's kinda the expression of affection towards someone. This "You're warm" was such an important detail!
I'm extremely grateful it was screened here anyway.
I like structure of the story very much, the story was swinging between are they a family or not.
In the end I didn't like it as much as nobody knows, but I can't say it's worse.
