Adventures Across the Bay

So last weekend Odi and I went to Kaygetsu for dinner. Goodness, I definitely want to visit again... the only item I didn't inhale was the dessert (I expect "flan" to be sweet, darnit!)

Today I decided to head into SF again, but unlike last weekend we took the BART so we don't have to worry about parking. We first stopped by Brenda's French Soul Food for brunch, and even though there was at wait when we got there at 10, it was definitely worth it. I got the Eggs Benedict with fried catfish :d I wish I had enough room to try the Bananas Foster French toast and beignets too :(

Then we walked over to the Asian art museum and spent hours there, walked to Blue Bottle Coffee Co.'s café for a coffee break, walked over to Chinatown to see an herbalist and walk around a bit, then walked to the Ferry building for dinner. Notice a trend? I'll see if I have use of my legs tomorrow...

On the dinner note, the Slanted Door has some decent food but is kinda expensive. We didn't order much since it was an early dinner and I wasn't that hungry. I was a bit sad though when I saw that the $16 yellowtail tataki-type-thing only came with 4 pieces, but it did taste good. Everything tasted good, it's just so... small, and this comes from someone who generally can't finish any normal-sized meal. I think I'll go with their takeout counterpart next time.
